Jij hebt impact Het werk van DNB gaat over financiële stabiliteit en duurzame welvaart. Daar kun jij als stagiair een bijdrage aan leveren. DNB werkt voortdurend aan het aanscherpen van haar stresstestmodellen. Deze modellen zetten we in om mogelijke kwetsbaarheden in het financiële systeem op te sporen. Jij kunt een bijdrage leveren door mogelijke interacties tussen bankgedrag en de macro-economie te modelleren. Zo doe je dat als stagiair bij DNB Je gaat werken aan het modelleren van hoe de kredietverlening door banken en de macro-economie op elkaar kunnen reageren tijdens periodes van economische stress. Hierbij maak je gebruik van unieke microdata die DNB op dit gebied heeft. Qua modellen kun je denken aan het schatten van panelregressies of structurele VAR-modellen. De stage kan als basis dienen voor een afstudeerscriptie.   Wat ga je precies doen? Analyses op basis van paneldata. Structurele Vector-Autoregressieve modellen schatten. Resultaten interpreteren en beschrijven. Hier doe je dat Je gaat werken bij de afdeling Macroprudentiële Analyse en Beleid, één van de twee afdelingen van de divisie Financiële Stabiliteit. Je werkt nauw samen met een team van economen dat zich bezighoudt met stresstesten. Dit team onderhoudt het top-down model, dat bijvoorbeeld recent is ingezet voor de DNB energietransitie stresstest. Dit breng je mee Je bent een enthousiaste persoon, die zelfstandig werkt en niet bang is zich vast te bijten in uitdagende vraagstukken. Je werkt graag aan projecten die maatschappelijk relevant zijn.   Waar zijn we verder nog naar op zoek? Je volgt een kwantitatieve wo studie en je hebt aantoonbare interesse in macro-economie en/of bankgedrag. Je heb ervaring met pakketten als Stata, R of Matlab. Je bent beschikbaar voor een stage van tenminste drie maanden. Dit bieden we je Een stage midden in de financiële en economische actualiteit. Een 36-urige werkweek met variabele werktijden, je kunt bijvoorbeeld 4 dagen van 9 uur werken. Toegang tot interne cursussen, workshops en sportfaciliteiten. Een laptop en flexwerkplek. What the job entails As an Associate in our team, you will be tasked to perform various assignments. You will assist clients with their credit risk modelling (from model design to model implementation), ensure model compliance with Basel III and IV regulation and/or IFRS 9, and perform in depth quantitative analyses and assessments of the models as part of model validation procedures. The projects you will be involved in will span across regulatory and technical accounting engagements (e.g. A-IRB modelling, IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss Modelling, Basel III/IV, CRR/CRD, Stress testing, etc.).   The engagements you will work on vary in length; covering from a few weeks to a few months. You will be mainly based at the client’s site but depending on the engagement, you could also be based at the PwC office. The remainder of your time you will spend on developing and updating your technical skills and knowledge, as well as growing your internal and external network. The job includes statistical programming and handling/processing of big data sets, for which you will need to have extensive experience in coding. The programming language in which the models need to be developed or validated will depend on the clients’ needs, therefore, it is essential that you are comfortable in at least one language and that you are willing and able to learn/adapt to other languages as necessary. We are looking for more than just analytical skills. You will work in a business unit of specialists with different backgrounds and will be an advisor to the client’s (senior) management who will rely on your technical expertise. You therefore need to be able to break down complex problems and explain these in plain non-technical language. Both verbal and written communication skills are of high importance for this position. The product we are delivering should be understandable and usable for our clients. This requires a structured way of working and good documentation skills.
