At a glance

As an intern you will work for at least 3 months in the challenging surroundings of one of our Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) departments, from home and in our Amsterdam office:
• Trade & Commodity Finance (TCF) consists of the Agricultural  and the Energy & Metals Commodity Finance departments; 
• Natural Resources (NR)consists of Energy and Basic Materials (Metals & Minerals and Chemicals);
• Global Transportation & Logistics (GTL) consists of Shipping, Intermodal and Logistics. 
We operate internationally across three time zones and offer clients products and services that match their needs. Given the volatile and vulnerable markets in which we operate, people active in this business need to be constantly aware of market conditions and keep up with the clients in the ever-changing demand for financial products and services. 

Your job

Dependent on your profile, interest and availability at the departments, you will be assigned to one of the abovementioned sector teams. 
With TCF you will join the Agri or Energy & Metals Commodities Team and work alongside experienced Account Mangers, support them with their day-to-day business activities, such as assisting in performing company financial analysis, credit proposals or exploring commercial opportunities. 
With NR you assist the sector bankers in designing client solutions and build multiproduct knowledge in products spanning Mergers & Acquisitions, Debt and Equity Capital Markets for clients and prospects active in the industrial value chain of Energy And Basic Materials. 
With GTL you will join a Shipping team or Intermodal & Avation. You will work as a junior in the team and assist the relationship managers on their daily activities, like client analysis, sector analysis, client action plans etc.

Your profile

Are you a genuine analyst and good with numbers? Do you have a strong business sense and excellent social skills? We are looking for an intern with strong analytical and numerical skills, affinity with finance and one of the CIB Global sectors. You are a(n) (ex-)student with the ambition to move into a banking environment post-graduation. Although your daily activities will be internally focused, a commercial mind-set is essential. Strong attention to detail is required, as is the simultaneous ability to see the big picture. 

Check your profile:

• You are in the final year of obtaining your Master degree (or you’re a recent Master graduate), preferably in finance or business economics
• You are living in the Netherlands
• If you are not a Dutch national or a holder of an EU/EER passport studying in the Netherlands, you hold a Dutch student visa or a so called Dutch Search Year permit, valid at least until the end of your internship. 
• You enjoy working in a team setting but also enjoy working independently
• You have good commercial, analytical and writing skills
• You have an intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to learn
• You are fluent in English
• You are experienced in working with Excel, Power Point and Word
• You have strong team player skills
• You are available for at least a 3 month internship (extension possible)
