Then the Young Talent Program Quant Modelling at Mploy Associates is definitely something for you. In this position, decisions are mainly determined by the models that you help to develop and maintain. In addition to a challenging position as a modeller, the Young Talent Program also offers you a personalized program in which you develop yourself into an authentic high-end professional.

What does your work as a Quantitative Modeller look like?

Together in a team of talented colleagues you will develop the next generation of models. These models do not only keep the regulator satisfied, but also have a major impact on the survival of the organization. You perform data analyses to find logical connections with the help of SAS, Matlab, R and/or Python, and you prepare data requirements for the development of the model. Examples of further work:

  • Do research into the best methods for modelling risks or pricing;
  • Development of models by means of regressions, stochastic methods or other investigated techniques;
  • Calculating capital impact of the new model;
  • Documenting model development process and results;
  • Making an inventory of the possibilities to implement the model in IT systems.

In addition, you are on standby when other departments need support and you offer your expertise to optimize the models. Depending on which team and department you ultimately work on, the specifics of you work duties will be fine-tuned. The reason for this, is that you will perform slightly different activities at a bank, compared with an insurer.

Our vision

Our Young Talent Program is aimed at training the next generation of leaders and professionals within the financial industry. Within Mploy Associates we do our utmost to develop your technical and soft skills within 24 months.

Four days a week you work at a bank or insurer in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam or The Hague and one day a week you work in-house at Mploy Associates to follow your personalized Young Talent Program. In 24 months we will prepare you for the next career step as a high-end professional at the bank or insurer. As a Young Talent at Mploy Associates, you are able to understand and execute detailed and challenging assignments at the bank or insurer in detail. You dare to excel.

In addition to focusing on your career and ambitions, we also believe that making a social contribution is important. That is why you, together with your Young Talent team, will also be involved at two pro bono projects at NGOs.

Coaching and guidance

Your personalized Young Talent Program will be drawn up under joint supervision of Mploy Associates and the partner organization. On day one, you and your Talent Manager from Mploy Associates do meet to map your ambitions and draw up an action plan. In close cooperation with the manager at the bank or insurer, we personalize the 10 modules of the Young Talent Program to ensure that all facets of your personal and technical development receive the attention they deserve. In addition to the personal guidance from Mploy Associates, you also receive daily supervision from your colleagues at the bank or insurer.

What are we looking for?

For the Young Talent position Quant Modeller we are looking for graduates with different quantitative backgrounds, experiences and passions. To specify:

  • You have 0-3 years of work experience and want to learn everything about the most modern modelling methods, tooling, and data processing technologies;
  • You want to put your mathematical knowledge that you have gained during your HBO or WO study program into practice (e.g., Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics or another related study);
  • You are excited about modelling and programming in Excel, SAS, Matlab, R or Python;
  • You do not shy away from using your analytical skills towards complex problems, and you are able to solve them in a creative and logical manner;
  • You are energized from switching with various stakeholders and know how to acquire the necessary information.
  • You have ambition, you are self-reflective, and confident in your own authentic way.

Every 3 months a new group of Young Talents starts within our program, with the added possibility of joining a little bit earlier or later. Together with you we look at the best moment to start, depending on your graduation and other significant factors.
