Position Overview

We are looking for a talented Junior Quantitative Analyst to strengthen our team. This is a development-focused role designed to support the senior quantitative team in building robust tools and systems to enhance trading and risk management processes. This role is ideal for candidates early in their career (0–2 years of experience) with a strong foundation in mathematics, modelling and coding, who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced trading environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development: Develop quantitative pricing models and implement algorithms to improve trading strategies and risk models. Optimize forecasting and simulation models for gas and power markets.
  • Risk Modelling: Implement risk models (e.g., VaR, CVaR) under the guidance of senior  analysts.
  • Data Science: Develop and enhance models predicting the consumption and production of the portfolio.
  • ETRM Customization: Work with the team to develop and customize the company’s Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system, including PnL calculations, implementation of risk metrics and scenario analysis.
  • Dashboard Development: Collaborate with the team to create and maintain dashboards for real-time position and risk monitoring.
  • Data Engineering: Help build and maintain efficient data pipelines for market and trade data processing.

 

Key Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Econometrics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or related STEM fields.
    • Experience: 0–2 years in a technical or quantitative role, preferably in energy
      or financial trading.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Mathematical Aptitude: Understanding of econometric, statistical and stochastic models.
    • Programming Proficiency: Strong Python coding skills are essential. Familiarity with C++, Matlab and SQL is an advantage.
    • Scientific Background: A foundation in computational methods and numerical techniques is a strong plus.
    • System Integration: Exposure to APIs, distributed systems and ETRM platforms is desirable but not required.
