GRASP THE OPPORTUNITY

You have always had an analytical mind and problem-solving skills. Are you intrigued by complex systems, and do you want to see direct results of your knowledge? Do you have the drive to understand and analyze the energy system for the future? Become a Junior Energy Analyst! Northpool’s Long Term team is the perfect place to start your career.

In the Long-Term team at Northpool, we analyze the fundamental drivers of the energy market. We trade in power, gas, and emissions, varying from weekly to monthly to seasonal contracts. As an analyst you will be in direct contact with the traders to understand what drives the market. Based on these drivers you will sit together with other analysts, data scientists and developers to discuss the problems and challenges. This could be to optimize current models and find innovative ways to build new models, developing an application with specific functionalities from scratch, or perform necessary statistical analysis on weather patterns.

The challenges? As countries switch from coal, oil and gas to wind, water, and sunlight to power their grids, the markets change. Competition gets fiercer, volatility increases and opportunities get bigger. At Northpool, we are at the forefront of the energy markets and act on these developments.
