The Investments Data Engineering & Analytics (IDEA) team in the Investments division, consisting of Data Engineers and Data Scientists, focuses on making better and more efficient investment decisions through data and technology.
As part of the Data Scientist team in IDEA, you have two closely related roles. Firstly, you are the Product Owner for the Sustainable Investing software developed by the Investment Bespoke Solutions team (IBS). The IBS team is a software development team building custom solutions for the Investment division. As the Product Owner, you translate investment processes into software requirements and deliver this software with IBS. Secondly, as a Data Scientists, you are a user of the data made available via this software. You analyze the data for insights to improve the investment processes and make this data and insights available to the investment teams. By combining the Product Owner and Data Scientist role data can be used optimally throughout the process.
As a product owner, you directly represent business stakeholders within IBS. This means that you take a lead in both prioritizing backlog items, as well as working out their details from a functional point of view. You are the first line of contact for key stakeholders, and actively think with them on methodologies for the projects implemented. Managing different projects with varying stakeholders is nothing new to you, and you can perfectly balance short- and long-term goals. You know the platforms by heart and are involved from start-to-finish in development. It is vital to understand the type of solutions we choose from a technical point of view, and that you are able to challenge choices and design angles here. You also make sure the data stored and produced by the software is made available via APIs.
Research is at Robeco’s core. As a data scientists, you use the data coming out of the application and combine it with other data for new insights.
