The traded volume mainly consists of grains and oilseeds used in the feed, food and fuel industries in Europe. By making use of both quantitative and qualitative analytics we support our trading activities. Based on our 2024 strategy our aim is to extend our functional activity with specialty products, sustainable products and services to diversify the overall Cefetra portfolio.

Junior Market Analyst Niche grains, pulses, nuts and oilseed products

With the trend of EU end consumers focusing more on health and sustainability the Cefetra group increased its trading activities in trading specialties (organic grains/proteins, pulses, small grains, nuts, etc.).

The Cefetra group is seeking a market analyst who can strengthen the team by improving price discovery of specialties. Your analysis will be used by traders to enhance their decision making. You will be working closely with market research but also with quants,  traders and risk management in our Rotterdam office.

The specialties market analyst is responsible for the entire process of price discovery. From collecting price and fundamental data to forecasting prices. The specialties market analyst will join an established team with data engineers, quants and fundamental analysts of grains and oilseeds.

Goals and objectives:

Setup from scratch supply & demand balance sheets for specialties by:

  • Investigate needs & possibilities.
  • Collect, structure & clean data
  • Setup database/structure to store the data
  • Make forecasts into the future

Forecast specialty prices by:

  • Identify price drivers
  • Collect prices
  • Leverage supply & demand data

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create & maintain supply & demand for specialties
  • Understand & cover agriculture markets and the impact it has on specialties
  • Keeping close contact with our specialty traders
  • Support overall Market Analysis team

What you will bring

  • Interest in agriculture markets & trading
  • Bachelor/Master in Finance/Economics
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Fluently English
  • Self-starter & high motivation.
  • Entrepreneurial
