ING is looking for high potential junior, medior & senior candidates  to strengthen the “Market Risk” model validation team (MV), covering  Trading, Counterparty Credit Risk ,  Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), Liquidity Risk & Operational Risk models  within ING’s brand new Model Risk Management department. As a model validator your key responsibilities are: Technical review of risk and pricing models.  The main focus areas are assessing the conceptual soundness and developmental evidence of a model, as well as the compliance with regulation and performing quantitative analyses & independent testing. Writing high quality, detailed validation reports.  These include a  model risk assessment  and recommendations for model improvement. These reports are shared and discussed with e.g.senior management, CRO staff, internal and external audit, the ECB and other regulators. Preparing reports/ad hoc requests for e.g. the Executive & Supervisory Board, CRO staff. I nteracting with model developers, ECB  (e.g. during onsite inspections), senior management, internal & external audit etc, in which your report and recommendations will be discussed and challenged. These models are amongst others used for measuring and managing various risk types in ING’strading & banking books, and for calculating regulatory and economic capital under the Basel regulations. Your work environment: MV is part of ING’s new  Model Risk Management department  and currently consists of 12 FTEs (apart from another MV team that currently focuses on Credit Risk IRB and IFRS9 models). The aim is to at least double the team on short notice given the fast changing regulations, ING’s strategy and the increased global focus on model risk management. The employees are highly educated (often PhDs) and from different international and interdisciplinary backgrounds. To ensure its independence, MV reports directly to the CRO. Who are we looking for? You are accurate and thorough. You have an investigative and critical, though positive constructive mindset. You are familiar with the market and/or other risk related theories/practice (e.g. trading, counterparty credit, IRRBB, ALM, liquidity, operational risks) and like to continuously develop your expertise and knowledge in a dynamic environment. You like to work as both an independent professional and in a high performing team, i.e. be pro-active, have high-quality standards, be organised and work according to the planning. You like to write high quality reports in English. You are persuasive, like to interact with model developers and regulators and build positive relationships. Een stage bij de Blackbelts: wat doe je dan? De Blackbelts zijn de interne procesconsultants van ING. Als stagiair bij de Blackbelt afdeling van ING doe je onderzoek, gekoppeld aan een lopend Blackbeltproject. Zo zie je direct hoe resultaten van je stage ook worden gebruikt om de dienstverlening aan onze klanten en de ING te verbeteren! Om dit te bereiken werk je nauw samen met collega Blackbelts en acteer je op alle niveaus binnen de organisatie: van operationeel medewerker tot directie. Er zijn veel verschillende mogelijkheden voor een stage bij de Blackbelts, waarbij het behalen van concrete resultaten altijd voorop staat. Enkele voorbeelden van eerdere stagetrajecten waarvan de ruim 8 miljoen klanten van ING dagelijks profiteren: Scheduling optimalisatie in het ING mailingcentrum waarbij de doorlooptijd van poststukken met 5 dagen is gereduceerd; Onderzoek waarin de klantselecties van advies gesprekken verbeterd is, waardoor de conversie naar verstrekte producten met 22 procentpunt verhoogd is; Gamification project waarbij teams inzicht kregen in de voortgang op hun dagdoel, met hogere medewerker tevredenheid en 15% meer efficiëntie tot gevolg. Klinkt goed: what’s in it for me? Als stagiair ben je onderdeel van een leuk en professioneel team van ca. 30 Blackbelts. Als interne consultancy partij voeren we procesoptimalisaties uit, die direct invloed hebben op de klanttevredenheid. Ons hart gaat sneller kloppen van ingewikkelde data analyses, maar we zijn pas tevreden wanneer deze analyses daadwerkelijk leiden tot een verbeterd proces. Dit bereiken wij door middel van verschillende methodes zoals Lean Six Sigma en Operational Management. Omdat we altijd bezig zijn met hoe dingen beter kunnen, vinden we het erg belangrijk om ook onszelf op persoonlijk en inhoudelijk vlak te blijven ontwikkelen. Er is daarom een breed programma aan interne trainingen om je kennis en vaardigheden te vergroten. Maar eigenlijk komt ontwikkeling overal terug: zo delen we op onze maandelijkse teamdag de lessons learned van projecten die zijn afgerond met elkaar en iedere Blackbelt staat altijd voor je klaar om je te helpen met je persoonlijke ontwikkelpunten.
