As a Junior Data Analyst you will analyze all Aegon data and data from external sources. You will apply advanced analysis methods to create fact-based insights and algorithms that will provide direction to Aegon. This may include analyses of campaigns, customer value and other forecasting models, product development, pricing, customer processes and distribution. About the department: The Analytics & Pricing team is a close-knit, ambitious team. We have approximately thirty data analysts and we all work together for Aegon Nederland. About the department
The IT department has ambitious goals. The speed of innovation within Aegon IT is unprecedented and IT is the beating heart of Aegon. We do everything in-house: from IT-supported customer interaction to automatically correct routing of emails based on AI and processing administrative mutations with Robots. We do this with leading IT partners. Within the traineeship you will recognize many of these innovations and you even have the possibility to help develope them. Implementation Lead: Do you like to get things done? Help the team order their product backlog and decide what course of action needs to be taken. Robotics: Help our Robotics team to increase the visibility and efficiency of our future RPA/ML projects by using benefit tracking.

SCRUM: Be part of a SCRUM team and support the development of new code and think about designing the new IT landscape.

As an intern, you will be actively involved in the Corporate Development projects, and will be based at Aegon's headquarters in the Hague, the Netherlands. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, both in the context of transaction origination and deal execution. Your activities include:
Market scanning to identify potential changes in the competitive landscape or overall market trends
In-depth analysis of companies (financial projections, company profiles etc.), and assessment against a set of criteria for potential qualification as M&A opportunity
Contribute to valuation analyses, such as DCF, LBO and multiples valuation, as well as other financial modeling

About the department The Corporate Development team within Aegon is responsible for the execution of mergers, acquisitions, partnerships and divestments across the globe. Our goal is to deliver on Aegon's strategy, by pursuing transactions that enhance the value of our global platform, explore new distribution channels (e.g. digital) and help better connect with our customers. Profile - Who are you?

The job in a nutshell
In this role, you will be working with Quant Developers and Portfolio Risk Managers to define, test and improve model outputs relating to market risk, stress testing, VaR, liquidity and leverage across a broad range of asset classes and instrument types including derivatives.You help gain better insight from model outputs by improving existing data visualisations and creating novel ways to analyse data in our data visualisation tool TIBCO Spotfire. You will be responsible for validating models used in e.g. the front office or elsewhere in the organisation. This role will provide a great opportunity to gain experience in portfolio risk management in a quantitative role. Your day to day activities will help you further extend your risk management knowledge, allowing you to also grow into the Portfolio Risk Manager role.
