We are currently implementing a determined and far reaching Margin Management (MM) Program across our global organization and its business units (BUs). The purpose is to create best practices in pricing, segmentation, account management, margin reporting and – at a later stage – sales force effectiveness, channel management, product service design and branding. This will involve the transformation of all relevant processes, tools and measurements.
 
To help us drive the success of the MM Program we currently seek a Margin Management Analyst

The position is based in either Amsterdam or Sassenheim, the Netherlands.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Your core purpose in this role is to support the MM Program leader. Within this context you prepare and run data validation in advance of the project, and identify opportunities. You then analyze information and data gathered during the program, ensuring consistency in reporting.
 
There is a particular responsibility on focused support for sub-BUs. This involves adapting MM tools to specific requirements, supporting the training of sub-BU teams, and running MM breakout sessions in sub-BU workshops.
 
You also support sub-BU Margin Managers in developing action plans and target setting and ensure agreed KPIs against which to measure and monitor progress.
 
Where necessary, you liaise with external consultants.
 
Beyond this, you work to embed the MM Program across AkzoNobel. This involves linking the regional MM Community with the sub-BUs to share experiences and best practice.
 
You also build out the MM capability based on new insights and the thorough adoption of new and more effective methods.
 
Finally, you identify, report and discuss key issues and develop action plans with the MM Project Leaders and Program Director.

Candidate profile

To apply for this position you should have a university degree, preferably in a discipline that requires analytical thinking such as Econometrics, Economic, Technical Business Administration, Business Administration, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Micro Biology or Natural Sciences. Further education (Masters, MBA) is an advantage, but not required.
 
You already have at least three years of experience in either business analysis or marketing, including hands-on experience in working with sales teams and pricing strategies. With this comes proven and successful end-to-end project management experience within multi-disciplinary programs and teams.
 
You will require strong analytical skills and the ability to understand analytical tools. You should be proficient in Excel and Powerpoint and ideally you have experience of AkzoNobel IT systems (BW/Cognos/CRM/SAP).
 
Above all you are a great self-motivator and networker, with good people and communication skills. Excellent written and spoken English is essential, and you must by a willing and enthusiastic traveler.
