Summary of role:
Sourcing for expansion in new markets through business development and innovation; specific in the challenging market of “sustainability”. In this job every department of Stokvis Tapes, local and group level will be involved. You will bring us closer to new markets, clients and other opportunities.
Key tasks and responsibilities
(i) Develop a model for the “future” challenges facing Stokvis Tapes in the coming years. Specifically regarding issues of sustainability and cradle to cradle topics related to the business we’re in today.
(ii) Develop and implement a midterm business plan for the market in line with the group mission and strategy
(iii) Develop and implement the sales and marketing strategy for the “green environment” company in 2012 and look at scenario planning over the long term.
(iv) Investigate the following questions regarding sustainability:
- What does the marketplace expect from: sustainability, green thinking, cradle to cradle (market survey) in our business model.
- Lean management and lean thinking is a part of this topic and investigate how to prepare the group to this model.
- Are we able to respond to this marketplace and are we able to source, sustainable, products with our A-suppliers. (Product portfolio and benchmark).Is it applicable in the converting environment.
- What is the impact of this attitude to the group and will it forces us to think back or forwards in the hierarchic structure?
- How to communicate the outcome and implement the strategy to the spec. writers and R & D departments of global manufacturers (push).
- How to go to market (general Market Segment Focus program).
(v) Investigate to broaden our product range with adjoining products. Example; in the aerospace and healthcare business we see more and more that tray suppliers are upgrading their logistics. How does this affect our business on the mid- and long term?
(vi) Develop a “test case” how to handle - build- up new segments in the group. All the results, topic 1 and 2, come together in a model to create a standard for developing new marketplaces.
(vii) Report on a regular basis to the Regional Director SWE regarding the progress and realisation of the operational, commercial and the development of the strategy in the group.
Candidate Background:
- University Degree preferably a Technical/Marketing degree or an engineering degree in Industrial Design with additional education in marketing.
- The position offers a high level of autonomy and accountability; therefore the successful candidate must demonstrate initiative, strong analytical skills, excellent people skills, vision, time management skills, effective decision making capabilities and posses a managerial and entrepreneurial attitude. Willingness to travel is essential.
- Languages: Fluent English, Spanish or French and the native language
